MISA JULY MEETING

Our next MISA meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at HELLA’S restaurant (8498 Veteran’s Hwy., Millersville, MD: 410-987-0948 ).
There will be a choice of 3 entrees: Crab Cake, NY Strip Steak and a Chicken dish. The cost per person is $30.

At this meeting we will be drawing the winning Raffle ticket for the 32″ HD TV. Tickets for this nice item are still available: $5.00 for one ticket or $10 for three tickets.
Tickets are still available for the August 14, 2010 CRAB FEAST/BULL ROAST fundraising event. These tickets are $45.00 per person.

Mary will be discussing recent and proposed information access changes to the Maryland Judiciary Case Search.
This is an important subject which effects both Private Investigators and Security Agencies.

June MISA Meeting

The next MISA meetIng will be held on June 8, 2010 (Tuesday) from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at HELLA’S RESTAURANT located at 8948 Veteran’s Hwy., Millersville, MD 21108 (410-987-0948).
Attendees will have a choice of 3 entrees:
1.) CRAB CAKE (plus 2 sides)
2.) NY STRIP STEAK (plus 2 side dishes)
3.) CHICKEN SOUVLAKI (grilled breast of chicken served open faced over wedges of pita bread with tomato, onion, parsley, lettuce & tzatziki sauce plus 2 side dishes).

May MISA Meeting and TV Raffle

The next MISA meeting will be held at the FEDERAL HOUSE RESTAURANT (22-24 Market Space, Annapolis, MD 21401; 410-268-2576) on May, 11, 2010 (the second Tuesday in May) from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
The cost per person is $30.00.
At this meeting we will be discussing a number of issues and we will also be initiating a proposal for a Crab Feast Fund Raiser event that will be going before the Board of Directors this week. In addition we will be raffling off a 32″ inch SONY HD TV. Our guest speaker for the meeting will be announced at a later date.

April Meeting and GPS Drawing

The Next MISA meeting will be on WEDNESDAY April 14, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. It will be held at the FEDERAL HOUSE BAR & GRILLE located at 22-24 Market Space, Annapolis, MD 21401. The cost per person will be $30.00 and includes salad, soft drinks and a choice of one of six entrees (Shrimp Scampi, Crab Cake, Tilapia Filet, Champagne chicken, Petit Filet Mignon or London Broil). This is an important meeting due to new laws and legislative updates. We will also be raffling off the GARMIN GPS at this meeting . March MISA General Meeting – New Location

Our next general meeting will be held at the HIBACHI SUSHI & SUPREME BUFFET restaurant on Tuesday, March 9. 2010 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This restaurant is located at 6619 Gov. Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD 21061 near the MVA complex. The telephone number is 410-787-9888. Two members have vouched for this place and there are many types of food. The cost will only be $20.00 per person.

Our guest speaker will be announced later.

This is an imortant meeting due to the legislative session and the learning curve with electronic fingerprinting.

We will also be raffling off a Garmin GPS unit: $5.00/ticket or 3 tickets for just $10.00. This is a very nice, wide screen unit with voice prompts announcing turns and street names, car/dash mount and other accessories.

In the future we also plan to hold other fundraising raffles and are looking to offer items like digital cameras, HD TV’s and laptop/notebook computers, etc.

The next MISA meeting will be on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the HUNAN MANOR restaurant in Columbia, MD from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. We will again have two appetizers and 5 entrees: This month’s selections will be different than the prior meeting menu selections. The cost is $30 per person. Please contact Bob Hoffman at 410-977-6613 or email Bob Hoffman to make your reservation before January 11th.
Representatives from the Maryland State Police Licensing Division will be speaking. Sgt. Jimmy Russell has confirmed his reservation and we expect additional MSP representives to be at the meeting. Updates concerning CJIS fingerprinting requirements will be discussed.
Also there will be announcements concerning memberships, “hot” issues facing our profession(s), fundraising and much more. The 2010 Legislative Session will begin on January 13th and there are some early announcements.
Please make every effort to attend.

This should prove to be a very important and productive meeting. Please plan to attend or send a representative from your organization.

ANNUAL ELECTIONS FOR OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS WILL BE HELD AT THIS MEETING.

Upcoming MISA Meetings – November Speaker from Licensing Division

The November Meeting will be on Tuesday November 10, 2009 (6:00 to 9:30 PM). We will have our usual appetizers, five entrees and dessert. Cash Bar is available. The cost per person is $30.00. The speaker for the November meeting will be Sgt. James Russell of the Licensing Division of the Maryland State Police. He will be discussing a number of important issues and announcing a change in the CJIS process for fingerprinting. This is an important meeting to attend.

The December meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 (6:00 to 9:30 PM).The menu will be similar to the November menu but with different entrees and appetizers. The exact menu will be posted at a later date. The cost will alo be $30.00/person.
